Dustin Braun · Instruments for being here
The night
has lungs.
A truck exhales.
The air between buildings
starts to have a body.

“The night has lungs is immediately what i recognize as what i really feel.”
I build systems that hold things together and make images that let them come alive.

A truck exhales. A siren stretches around a corner. Beneath an air conditioner, a droplet holds the light a moment longer.
Exhaust becomes a torso. Birdsong makes a joint that exists for one note. A siren reaches around a corner. These are the transformations inside The night has lungs—an evolving collection of images, writing, and sensory maps.
It began in conversation with AI. I recognized something in the phrase “the night has lungs” and wanted to stay with it.

The connection
A system.
A score.
A strange
way of seeing.
Code holds a sequence together. A piano has room to answer an uneven pulse. An image lets a machine become a lung.
I work across systems, sound, images, and AI. The work here follows the same material through different forms: a motor into a score, a glass into a short release, a sequence into a display, three days into a book.
Keep the thread.
Let a project grow without erasing the earlier version of it.
Give it somewhere to go.
Follow an association into an image, a piece of writing, or something someone can explore.

The same attention.

The motor is making the water shiver. A small scene about gathering, trembling, and release.
