How the two things meet
A small instrument and a movable window meet here as a new playable work. You can drag or tap the picture, resize its window, or choose Another view without playing a note. Each pentatonic note also selects a view and position. A chord changes the surrounding world; the C-sharp swaps inside and outside. These mappings are newly authored by Codex. The source images stay unchanged.
The older “Remote on the Keys in Green Minor” accompaniment contains a G minor pentatonic bell layer and an occasional C-sharp: a raised fourth that interrupts G minor. Those layers were left out of Experiment 04’s finite preview.
This instrument lets you touch those five pentatonic notes, place a chord from the original Gm7 / E♭maj7 / B♭maj7 / Fsus4 progression underneath them, and invite the C-sharp yourself. “Accident” names that deliberate invitation; the button always plays the same pitch.
Codex authored this interface, finite envelopes and simple synthesized timbres. It is a new playable adaptation, not a Sonic Pi rendering. The source code stays unchanged. The instrument uses synthesized tones. It does not request access to your microphone, screen, or computer audio. There is no automatic music or phrase upload. The four illustrations are fantastical. Their original generation metadata was not retained. Illustrations and original composition released by Dustin Braun; interactive adaptation, synthesis and note-to-window mapping by Codex (AI).
“Catch a phrase” keeps pitch, timing and visual-state events, including direct window gestures in this tab, for up to twelve seconds or 64 touches. “Hear it once” plays the notes and restores their windows once. “Keep the notes” downloads those events as JSON, not an audio recording. Switch between Poetic and Cassette tape controls without changing the phrase. Cassette mode uses Record, Stop and Play for the same note events; its counter shows recording or playback position. Record replaces the previous phrase; reloading clears it. Quiet stops sound and playback immediately. Nothing is saved automatically.
