Accompanying story · a retrospective reading
A traffic light is visible through a narrow opening in the room. Dustin holds the camera on red and waits. From inside the apartment, the ordinary business of an intersection becomes something to watch.
The narration moves between impatience and curiosity: timers, sensors, whether anyone has driven through. A green light arrives briefly. The decision to stop recording becomes a decision to stay for another cycle. Meanwhile, the room keeps being a room: a train, Rocket, a tired thumb, shadows at the edge of the frame.
Watching it now, the comedy is in how little the premise needs. The camera does not have to go anywhere. The wait becomes the film.
This recording belongs beside a week of experiments with glass, light, and changing viewpoints. That is a retrospective association, not a claim about what the recording was made to mean. Here, the invitation is smaller: stay for a light. See what happens while it stays red.
